Book Reconmendation

If you are looking for a good book that is hard to put down then read the Harry Potter series. There are 7 books in the Harry Potter series.
The books in the series are:
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Every book in the series is hard to put down. I think the 4th book is the best book of the series. The series is about how Harry Potter finds out that he is a wizard and attends a wizarding school called Hogwarts. He goes through many hard times to defeat the wizard that killed many lives-Voldemort.

Book Review - The Landry News

In the Landry News, a girl named Cara Landry starts making a newspaper. Cara is in Mr.Larson's class. Mr.Larson is a very strict teacher. Most parents tell the principal their child cannot be put in his class. She makes a newspaper saying ‘There has been no teaching in this classroom. This teacher says children should teach themselves. If that were so, we should each get about $7.00. Mr.Larson does not seem like such a good teacher in ways. Read the rest of the book to see Cara's experiences with her newspaper and Mr.Larson!

Coraline (the Graphic Novel)

Have you read the graphic novel "Coraline"?
Well, if you haven't, you are miiiiissing out! Even though this comic was adopted from the original chapter book, it still has an exciting tingle to the story. What's more, it's not too scary (like the movie, as I've heard!) and suitable for fantasy lovers like me. The pictures give an almost animated feel to them.

The book spooked me out a little the first time I read it. With Coraline finding a magical link to another kind of world made by the evil "other mother" in the old flat her family just moved into. It was almost exactly like Coraline's real world, since the other mother could only make twisted copies of what was real.

There was a copy of her father, a copy of the two old once-ago actresses, Mrs. Spink and Mrs. Forcible, and even a copy of the crazy old man who lives upstairs!

Coraline's real mother and father are kidnapped by the other mother. Will Coraline be able to rescue them before she is turned into a ghost? Read the book to find out!

You can even find the book in our trusty old UPS library!

The Summer Poem

Summer!
I love summer it is very fun,
All school and homework is done,
Going to the far stretching sea,
With all of my friends and me,
Going to grandparent's houses,
Buying skirts and blouses,
Going to pools,
And closing down school,
Looking through the art halls of fame,
Playing fun video games,
I love summer do you?

Movie Review

They just get better and better!
-Jackson, Reporter

"The Greatest Things are the Pets"
The new movie: “How to Train your Dragon,” is the movie that fans have been waiting for. Fans of Avatar and Percy Jackson will enjoy this new mythological thriller.

Young Viking Hiccup is determined to show his father that he is a brave Viking, with the guts to kill a dragon. The only issue is, Hiccup’s father, Stoick, is the leader of their clan, while Hiccup is a silly wannabe teenager.

When Hiccup catches a one of a kind dragon, known as the “Night Fury,” he can’t bring himself to kill it for his father. So instead, he studies it, and learns that dragons aren’t the deadly creatures that the rest of the clan thinks they are.

Like most other movies nowadays, “How to train your Dragon” is presented to viewers in 3D. The effects are like Avatar, except you won’t be glancing at your watch waiting for it to finish.
