The Lockheed Martin/Boeing F-22 Raptor’s role is a stealth air superiority fighter. It is a single seat, twin engine fifth generation fighter aircraft that uses stealth technology. It has additional capabilities that include ground attack, electronic warfare and signals intelligence roles.

Mikoyan Mig- 29
The Mikoyan Mig-29 is an air superiority fighter. It is a 4th generation jet fighter aircraft that was designed in the Soviet Union. It was developed in the 1970s and entered service with the soviet in 1983, and is still in use by the Russian Air Force and many other nations.

Who was your favorite teacher when you were in school? Why?
Mr. Schneider. I had him for 4 classes a day (all in music) and he was mean and strict, but made us better students.

Have you taught any other grade or subject besides 4th grade?
For 11 years I taught 5th and 6th grade.

Overall, how do you like HKIS and your experience here?
I like HKIS, the students, the faculty, and the way the school pushes me to become a better teacher.

Earth Day!

Earth day is finally here! It’s a time to celebrate the earth. Some people celebrate this holiday differently- some people sing songs, some have a feast, some people do posters, and some do activities! One thing we did this week was turn off all of our electricity for one hour. We are also trying to use less water.

Did you know you shouldn't just recycle on this day you should do this every day! My family recycles everyday (otherwise our house would be filled with garbage!) I think we should all recycle everyday or we will have a huge mountain of trash that will be impossible to clean up!Everyone needs to try to think about the earth and how you are taking care of it each day. Please help us save our plant everyday. Please help us save our sea animals. Please help our planet!

Spring is here!!!!

Spring is the time of year when things get warmer and animals come out of their hibernating places. The flowers start to bloom with all there might thanks to the kind people that give them water and the sun that gives them power. The cold from the winter has gone away on vacation and the trees starting to get leaves again. It's sad to say goodbye to the snow, but the flowers come it's place.

After spring comes summer! It is the time for beaches and pools!!! It is time for fun!!!

Book Review- The Quest Begins (Seekers series)

The Quest Begins is the first book in a new series called Seekers by Erin Hunter. Many of you may know her as the author of the Warrior Cat series. The Seeker series is about different bear clans.

In The Quest Begins you read about different kinds of bear cubs. Kallik, a polar bear cub, and her mother, Nisa and brother, Taqqiq travel across the ice. Nisa urges her children to travel faster before the ice melts. Toklo is a grizzly cub who has a weak brother named Tobi. Their mother, Oka is having difficulty catching prey. Oka pampers Tobi, and it seems as if she doesn’t care about Toklo. Another bear named Lusa lives in a bear bowl in a zoo with her friends. She wants to learn and live in the wild.

What will happen to the cubs? You'll have to read this great new series to find out!

Kelly Clarkson “All You Ever Wanted” Concert

If you like pop music and watch American Idol, you probably already know about Kelly Clarkson. She was the first person to win American Idol. She has sold over 20 million albums since 2002 and lots of people love her songs. She’s going to be singing in Macau on May 8, at the Venetian Cotai Arena. Tickets will be sold out soon, so hurry!
